The Old City is the walled centre inside and just outside the moat, and the base for people who want temples, markets and cafés within walking distance. Tadkham Village, also near Chiang Mai Gate, quotes 10,000 baht with water, electricity, internet and cleaning included. Baan Chinnakarn near Warorot Market rents 17 m² balcony rooms for 12,000 baht on a one-month contract. At the top end, Himku Hotel by Tha Phae Gate (adults only, 30 to 40 m²) costs 18,000 baht, booked through Airbnb, and The Social Club coliving by the west moat costs 28,500 to 33,000 baht with bills, cleaning and a 24-hour coworking desk included. The Old City lies east of the airport's approach path, and each listing shows its modelled aircraft-noise level.
